Malik Al-kasid's truck leads a caravan of relatives as many villagers along the way turned out to welcome him home on the way to Al-kasid's Istikbal, or homecoming, in his home village Suq ash Shuyukh on the outskirts of Nasiriyah, Iraq, Tuesday, July 29, 2003. Al-kasid is seated at left. Mud bricks, made by hand, for building a home are at left. The Al-kasid family fled Iraq after the Gulf War and their part in the uprising against Saddam Hussein in 1991, spent 3 years in Rafa, Saudi Arabia and finally settled in Dearborn, MI.The family hasn't been home to Iraq in 13 years.
